It’s a sad day for hair metal fans everywhere. Jani Lane, most famous for fronting ’80s hair metal band, Warrant, was found dead Thursday in a hotel room in Woodland Hills, California.
Most people know Lane and Warrant for their 1990 hit “Cherry Pie” which took over MTV and filled adolescent minds with more inappropriate pie metaphors than they probably needed.
The cause of death is yet unknown, but the hair metal world is reaching out with condolences from the likes of Slash, Tommy Lee, Bret Michaels and Nikki Sixx. It’s truly a sad loss not just for the hair metal community but for all music fans.
Today, I raise a sexually-suggestive cherry pie in your honor, Jani.
