The Idaho State Journal is reporting that two infants have been pronounced dead at the Portneuf Medical Center, after being found not breathing earlier this morning.
The one-month-old twin boys, Gabriel and Tryce Medrano, were transported this morning to PMC, where Bannock County Coroner Kim Quick said they were dead on arrival. Quick said there isn’t enough evidence to rule the death accidental or not, until autopsies are completed later this week.
The incident first started just before 9 a.m. when authorities believe the twins’ mother, Kiarra Kimbel, called 911. The Pocatello Fire Department arrived at the apartment on Franklin Avenue and summoned another ambulance after paramedics confirmed the infants were not breathing.
Detectives have cordoned off the apartment as they investigate the deaths.
Pocatello Police are actively investigating the deaths that they consider “suspicious.” An autopsy will take place tonight, but no further details are being released.
Autopsies revealed that the twins did not suffer from any trauma. Officials are waiting for the toxicology report.
