Jackson Police are launching an investigation after a Teton County sheriff’s deputy was found dead Tuesday morning. After Edwin Fourre, 49, didn’t show up for work, deputies went to his house, looking for the man who worked in the court services department of the sheriff’s office. When they arrived, they found Fourre dead, with a single gunshot wound to the head.
This could be easy enough to write off as a suicide, but Teton County Sheriff Jim Whalen clearly thinks something is up, as he called for a full-scale investigation. Police are currently collecting evidence from Fourre’s house and conducting an autopsy, so we’ll have to wait to find out whether or not foul play was involved.
